What's New in ChemWhiz

Versioning: 2.0 is a major update to the previously released ChemWhiz. Published updates from here bump the minor version (2.1, 2.2, and so on). Critical bug fixes ship immediately and are not given their own version entry.

The biggest update to ChemWhiz yet: a new interactive practice and tutoring experience, a much larger reference library with interactive charts, and a full accuracy review of every chemistry claim on the site.

New

Practice and tutoring (Study): a full set of practice problems for every topic, with worked examples for each learning objective. Create a free account to explore them; a subscription unlocks instant answer grading (the same answer always gets the same verdict) and an AI tutor that shows step by step where a solution went wrong and what to try next.
Interactive reference charts: explore solubility curves, titration curves, and phase diagrams as interactive graphics, not just numbers in a table.

Expanded and improved

Reference library: more than doubled, from 9 tables to 22, including common ions, solubility rules, standard reduction potentials, bond energies, solubility products (Ksp), acid and base constants, formation constants, and thermodynamic data. Sort any column, filter by category, search the longer tables, and see the source behind each one.
Accuracy, everywhere: a full review of the chemistry across all 118 element pages, the element guides, the reference tables, and the 30 Learn topics, checked against authoritative sources (IUPAC, NIST, OpenStax, and the Royal Society of Chemistry), with outdated and overstated claims corrected.
Sources you can check: reference tables and guides now cite where their data comes from, with links to the originals.
Better on mobile: wide tables scroll cleanly, headers stay in view while you read, and pages fit small screens without sideways scrolling.
Easier to find: clearer page titles, descriptions, and search information across the site.
